MAP advocates for projects that house our local workforce and communities. We promote and support policies that enable the creation of affordable housing in the Truckee-Tahoe region. Through project review and land use advocacy our work has helped to support 700+ units for the regional workforce. Part of our workforce housing advocacy efforts are focused on monitoring existing projects, past projects, proposed applications, and policy requirements in the region.

  • Henness Flats: 92 units completed.

  • Frishman Hollow I & II: 100 units total. Phase I, 32 units completed, Phase II 68 units.

  • Hopkins Village: 50 units, Martis Camp workforce housing requirement. The first ten units finished in early 2008, marketed to sale for workforce/for-purchase inventory, but unsuccessful. Remaining 40 units completed in 2023 by Daniel Fraiman, with deed-restriction for local workforce.

  • Sawmill Heights I & II: 96 units completed. Phase II is still contemplated for 100+ units.

  • Railyard Artist Lofts: 77 units, Railyard Master Plan workforce housing requirement.

  • Coldstream Commons: 48 units, Coldstream (PC1) workforce housing requirement.

  • Meadow View Place: 56 units, Schaffer Mill’s workforce housing requirement.

  • Soaring Ranch (PC-3, formerly Joerger Ranch): 80-100 unit zoning allocation at the RMW parcel for future workforce housing.

  • Cottages at Gray’s Crossing: Two projects not full-filled, A multifamily 100 unit and cottage 39 unit smaller project. The Specific Plan or development agreement are no longer valid, which could change the future land use.
