MAP Sierra Forage Dinner Live Auctioneer | Steven Siig
The Live Auction at the Sierra Forage Dinner will be lively and full of entertainment with our auctioneer being the one and only Steven Siig of Alpine Meadows. Most Tahoe folks know Siig as the owner of Tahoe Art Haus & Cinema and Tahos Draft Haus, but there is so much more to Siig and his love for giving back to Tahoe!
Steven Siig is a self-taught filmmaker. He first picked up a camera at the age of 19 to document his friend's skiing steep lines. That grew into an action sports documentary career that took Siig to Alaska and South America to film snow sports and adventure travel for numerous productions such as Warren Miller Entertainment, TGR, Standard, and Matchstick Productions. When his best friend was killed during the film production of a ski descent in the remote wilderness of Alaska, Siig decided to put the camera down.
In 2014, Siig took his knowledge of film to a different side of the movie industry and opened the Tahoe Art Haus & Cinema, a cinema draft house that shows major motion pictures, independent and action sports films, and hosts speakers, filmmakers, live music and fundraisers for local Tahoe foundations. That reinvigorated his passion for storytelling; he has produced and directed independent feature films. Most notably documentary Buried: The 1982 Alpine Meadows Avalanche, psychological thriller, Disrupted and most recently Co-produced Weak Layers, an indie ski rom-com filmed exclusively in North Lake Tahoe.
We are thrilled to have Siig help MAP fundraise to support our mission and work!
